Assigning owners¶
Owner is a first-class attribute in ArcaMira, and its meaning depends on the entity's layer. Read Ownership & accountability for the why; this guide is the how.
Who owns what¶
| Entity | Set the owner to… |
|---|---|
| Application | the product owner (asset-level accountable person) |
| Technology | the product owner (platform/component owner) |
| Capability | the business owner (accountable for the business function) |
You do not set a business owner on applications directly — an application's business owner is derived from the capabilities it realises and shown read-only.
Setting an owner¶
On an application or technology page: click the Product owner field in the profile strip and type the name; it saves on blur/Enter.
On a capability page: click the Business owner field (under the description) and type the name.
Filling gaps quickly from Estate Health¶
The fastest way to clear unowned assets:
- Go to Estate Health (
/estate-health). - Open the no-owner section.
- Each row has an inline Assign owner… field — type a name and click Assign. The row drops off and the signal/trend counts refresh. (Editors/admins only; viewers see a read-only list.)
Seeing the payoff¶
Once capabilities have business owners and applications are mapped to capabilities, each application page shows a derived business owner attributed to its capabilities, e.g. "Business owner: Priya Anand (eCommerce & Digital)." And because owner is a real column, ownership reporting ("who owns our T1 estate?") becomes a straightforward query rather than a spreadsheet exercise.
